A few years ago there was a single issue of G.I. Joe from Egypt up on eBay. All total I think I've seen 2 from Egypt, and that's it so far. I know there are more then 2 because the issue number was something like 82. Has anyone ever found any from Egypt? Know where to find any?
Funskool put out Joe's for what? A decade or so? Anyone ever find any G.I. Joe comics from India?
Anything at all from the rest of Africa? Or the Middle East?
Roger

I'm afraid I fall short on this one. If it isn't Spanish, Italian or Portugese, it's out of my reach My French teacher would be dissapointed too, since I can't recall more than a Tarzan-style level of French. I never liked that language much

It's probably Arabic. Funskool's Joe packaging was all in English, so I imagine their comics would be too.

I wouldn't discard Kuwait. Of all the middle Eastern countries, I'd say it's the one which is most pro-USA. This would make it easier to publish a G.i.Joe comic, I'd think.

This is issue #128 released in the Sept 1992. So probably actually released in whatever country in 1993 or 1993.
In Mid 90's, how many countries in that area would have had a stable comic market? Even the US comic market was falling apart at this time.
So there can't be to many of them produced, especially since they are starting so late in the Joe Marvel run.
My guess would be Israel. More US friendly and have a population that would be interested in American comics. But Beriut & Egypt fits this discription, also.

Those characters don't look like Hebrew. Besides, though it may be a 1992 comic, the country that printed this may have been a lot more than a year behind. It isn't uncommon to see comics printed abroad that were originally printed in the US 10 years before.
I'd still think Kuwait or Egypt. Lebanon would be highly doubtful. Heck, I'd bet that's not it.

The comic market outside of the US, UK, France, Canada, and Japan is vastly different than what we are used to. Pretty much everywhere outside of those 5 countries comics are strictly for kids. Which is exactly why collecting international comics is so hard.
Incidentally I've talked to comic shops in Israel, and they insist that there was never a traditional format G.I. Joe comic there. Same goes for Greece. But you never know what you might find, and you never know if they might have comics in other formats.
At any rate, I doubt that this one if from Israel.

I asked around over at this forum and got a quick response: : Quote: Hi, it's Arabic
The big red text = J.I.JOE The black text near the gun's shot = Arabic Version The red text bellow = Wounds of change Still don't know what country it's from, though.

I have a similar issue and I was told by the seller it was from Egypt. Supposedly he was stationed there and that's where he got it. The issue I have is based on G.I. Joe #130 and has the same cover as the American version. The only information I can actually read inside the book is "Kattan's Trading, Inc. U.S.A. President: Abdul Aziz Kattan." It also lists Marvel Entertainment Group and the back of the comic is dated 1994. That's it--the only English in the whole issue. Incidentally, I haven't found a traditional Isreali comic book but here is what I have found from that country: http://joeintel.com/general_page_desc.p ... YyNzE2MA==I am just mentioning this since someone else brought it up. Eventually, I plan to get my International comics all listed on Joe Intel and the American comics as well for that matter. Right now I have been focusing on the toys as that is what the majority of the visitors are interested in. On another note I am about to deploy and could use some help with the comic section or anything else if anyone can help out. Thanks! Just in case you haven't seen it I am talking about Joe Intel: http://joeintel.com/Thanks for the stimulating conversation about the International comics--it wrought me out of my lurker mode! Dan

Hey Dan
welcome to the site.
And I think a trade of electronic information is in order to get JoeIntel some comic info and YO Joe some also.
Didn't have time to really dig through your site tonight but I signed up. But I will the next time I have a bunch of time.
But it looks great.
