Wow! That is cool!

I'm curious, I remember hearing about World War Z, but I'm not sure what I heard. I find Chaykin's art a little blocky for my tastes, but it's never been enough to keep me from picking up a good Joe book!

I love Fuso, I love Chaykin, and I love Brooks.

Also I love Major Bludd and I love Spirit.

Can this get any better?

(I have to say, I was getting a little worried about this series. We hadn't heard anything since SDCC, and I was afraid it had been cancelled. Yay IDW!)

Cool! I was just about to write a post wondering about the Max Brooks title too!

Is this a one shot or mini cause it has a #1 on the cover?

Of course. where it fits in the story world of IDW's GI Joe will be a big question.

This is that Max Brooke mini that cashel was asking about. How many issues? Probably 4.

It sounds and looks good the first thing I thought when I saw that cover was J Jonah Jameson is Major Bludd but he looks good. Now is this ROC verse or the normal IDW verse?

Major Bludd was not in the ROC movie. This would be the IDW version of him. (I am assuming this is set in the reboot universe.) IDW will however also be introducing the Major in the Operation HISS mini series which is set in the movieverse. That debuts next week.

I know Bludd wasn't in the movie I hoped he was going to be. I thought it might be something else like Operation HISS so in the ROC verse rather than the reboot.

Character specific fans rejoice.

Those quotes are both very hard edge. Is this a chance to utilize little explored characters through the lens of GiJ:Cobra?

I know this series is going to focus on a single Joe and Cobra per issue from the looks of things. From the title and those quotes it also seems like it will take you inside the characters heads and give you their thought process and why they do the things they do. I just hope that all the stories included in this series stick to that. The reason I say this is that I feel that IDW has really not stuck to the "Origin" part of the Origin title over in that book. Origin to me means how a person came to the decision to join the military and then how they were recruited to the Joe team. Then how they learn to work together as a team. Not just an "Early Adventures" book that has some "Origin" stuff included. (Maybe I should start a thread on that subject. ) I hope this gives us some good character stuff. I don't think I have read any of Max Brook's stuff. Does he write this way in general? Just curious.

Just got my copy of the ashcan in the mail today. I was surprised it had the entire Major Bludd half of the issue included. I was just expecting preview art. Not colored art and script. Looks like Bludd is a family man who wants to be able to provide for his family with his "skills" and not become "redundant" like his father and other men who could no longer provide for their families. Great stuff here. Can't wait to see the rest of the issue and the Major Bludd half at full size. Thanks for the hook up Andy. :D 8)
EDIT: Just noticed on the back page that it mentions G.I.Joe: Hearts & Minds graphic novel information. It's hardcover and scheduled for November 2010 release. Looks like this release will deserve the special treatment to it.

I got my copy today and WOW! Very interesting story, could see a mini-series just on flushing out Bludd's story. I am really looking forward to this mini-series.
