Venezuela?!?

That's pretty funny, actually, and a great way to subvert the audience's expectations of what a Snow Job story will be. I also love how IDW seems to be actually digging into these characters and their backgrounds instead of just their obvious specialty -- instead of just being "the cold-weather dude," he is a crack marksman as well, just like on the original filecard.

This is one of those times I might have to buy both covers. They are both great!

Klaus' cover with Snow Job all geared up is awesome.

Tom, I'm hoping yours is the virgin cover. I don't typically pick those up, but it's so clean like it's coming right off the toy packaging. I wouldn't mind seeing that made into a poster someday.

Speaking of which, when is IDW collecting your Origins covers into a posterbook?!?

You betcha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know IDW has by far given us the best covers of any GI Joe publisher. Yeah, there are classic ones and better ones. But overall IDW has really done a great sweet job with their covers.

They are both really great, but I gotta stick with the the Feister cover! Each of his covers on this title have been more than I could hope for.

Thanks everybody. Snow Job was a personal favorite of mine. Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania I couldn't wait for snow so I could take Snow Job and the Polar Battle Bear into the wild tundra of my backyard. I would replay my version of the Mass Device episodes of the mini-series. I hope I get to draw him again soon.

Really nice one from the Feister! :) (Hi Tom!)
Great mixture of graphic style and dynamic comic art.
A smart move by IDW to give the IDW-Joe books some sort of "recognisable face".

Come very early April there might be one more "cover" coming up featuring our favourite arctic Joe...but I shouldn't talk about that too much as this is not in my powers...
Anyhow, as I mention on my website Origins #15 will (if all goes well) feature two bonus pages. Would have loved to do that on Beachhead as well but it didn't work out.
Also, I will be in San Francisco early April, attending WonderCon for the first time. If you see me, make sure to say hi!

This is what GI Joe is all about.

The Joes are so good at there jobs that they can be a fish out of water and still better then anyone else.

And these stories, along with the Rip Cord one and the main series #13 with Tripwire and Beach Head in an Aztec ruin really are the best kind of GI Joe stories that can be told.

Yeah, we all love the SE,SS cluster of a storyline but really makes for a solid Joe comic book, is just flat out fighting, military or ninja style.

I totally agree. Although, I still feel this issue came off slightly "toyetic" with Snow Job completing the mission in his arctic gear. You're telling me they couldn't scrounge up some fatigues or even some civilian wear before he met with the president. The entire scenario reminds me of Torpedo fighting inside the U.S. Mint decked out in his full scuba gear.

Other than the wardrobe gripe, it wasn't a bad issue. A little bland because the bad guy is no one memorable and we really don't find out much about Snow Job other than he's a crack shot.

This issue pretty much demonstrates the best and worse of IDW's GI Joe:

Great Art! Great script! Great Dialogue!

Ignores Marvel characterization! Has nothing to do with Cobra! Doesn't advance the overall GI Joe reboot story!

It also seems not many people have read it yet. More posts before it was released than after.

ANTARCTICA YEAH.

Summary is up at YOJoe

www.yojoe.com/comics/idworigins/origins15.shtml

Another great story and great art. but we learn very little about Snow Job other then that he wasn't a very good shot. Nor does this issue show how he became a Joe, which I thought this book was supposed to be about.

But it is the best single issue origins book so far.
