First, I want to welcome Jeremy Dale here to the forums.

Now...onto the questions.

Who is publishing the comics? Does Hasbro have an in-house publishing system or are they getting them published through a third party?

Also, you mentioned that these comics are going to be full 22 page comics. Can you tell us how many you are currently working on?

Finally...did you grow up with GI Joe comics and if so, how does it feel to be working on the new comic packs?

First off, hey-- my name is Jeremy Dale, and I am an illustrator on the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary comics. I grew up a huge Joe fan, and really enjoyed reading the comics from the old Marvel run. More than anything, like I said at the panel, I'm interested in telling a great story visually and staying true to the characters above all else.

Good questions Phil I asked some of the same ones over at his board

1. I was wondering what kind of restrictions are given to you ? Meaning if you had wanted to throw in a sublte cameo or something are you allowed? or do you have to stick straight to the script.

2. Do you have any contact with Larry Hama ?

3. Have you done any other work with Hasbro?

4. How did your relationship with Hasbro begin ?

Like I said over at my forums, yes these are 22-page issues. I understand the confusion, as they were labeled "half issues" in the PR at the convention, making it sound as if they were half the physical dimensions in size or content. Not at all-- these comics (as announced at the JoeCon) contain 100 percent new material from writer Larry Hama and illustrated by Jeremy Dale (me).

These books are being produced by a third party, Conceptopolis ( http://conceptopolis.com/ ). I am working with Hasbro through them-- and it has been a dream collaboration so far. Working from Larry's scripts and getting feedback from him on the pages has really helped push the quality that much higher overall. I can't wait for you guys to get to see them, we're really excited about it.

I can tell you that the three comics announced at the JoeCon were illustrated by me with some incredible colorists working over that.

As I mentioned before, I did indeed grow up on the comics, and always loved how well it worked with the cartoon, the action figures, etc etc. I wish I had read more of them, actually-- although working on this project has given me the opportunity to go back and read stacks and stacks of them, which has been a real treat. Working on these books is a real honor-- I'm working hard to make sure these are true to G.I. Joe and the feel of the classic books.

I think what they meant was that these issues fall in between the OLD marvel issues the the sequel to issue 21 is called issue 21 and 1/2

which is a great idea and a great way to resell the TPBs in the future if hasbro decides to do so

I try to stick to the core of the script in general, though I've tossed in a few cameos and sight gags on some pages, which the Hasbro guys mentioned at the show during the Q & A.

Somewhat-- we met in person for the first time at the JoeCon, but mostly I get the comments from Larry through my editor and respond in the same manner.

3. Have you done any other work with Hasbro?

Not so far, no. There's always the possibility of more down the line, but nothing official that I can report at this time.

I was contacted by Aaron at Conceptopolis, who introduced himself online and mentioned he had just stumbled across my work, and whether I was "interested in working on G.I. Joe"...

...Yeah, after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I immediately jumped at the chance. Well, there was a lot of stammering, but once that passed, I said I'd LOVE to... and here we are! Working on characters that I've loved since childhood AS I remember them? So cool.

Correct, the idea is that they can fall naturally in-between the issues already out, so it all falls into continuity already in place.

Thats great, they found you! I've thought about doing box art and the sort before but had no idea how to break in. Conceptopolis sounds good I think I'll send a submission package. Do you mind if I ask you an average rate for work?

1. From what you can tell, can you give us an idea of where these fall in the overall timeline? (Like ... the Silent Interlude sequel being a "DIRECT" sequel, or taking place later).

I'm a huge timeline organizer, and it'd be cool to know the intended timelines and not have to approximate where these issues are going to fall into place.

Pay rate? Can't talk that, obviously.

Work rate? Being obsessive about getting things done, I'm something of a workhorse. I typically draw 2-3 pages a day and still get a healthy amount of sleep and off-time to not go insane.

Unfortunately, I can't discuss any content issues beyond what was talked about at the show, so I guess my answer is "stay tuned"! Though I can tell you it's a good one.

Honestly, though-- really wish I could give a better answer than that, but it's obviously off-limits for me to discuss further at this time.
